Evidence-based treatments such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), psychodynamic therapy, Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) and Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) are powerful and proven counselling approaches to help adults work through their problems.  Depending on the client’s issue, and in consultation with the client, any of these therapeutic approaches, or elements of a few of them, can be engaged. The most important aspect of the counselling is the connection between the client and the counsellor, a spirit of unconditional respect for the client and an environment of safety and empathy.
